Is
carrying a concealed weapon right for me or will it just give my
assailant a weapon to use on my family? Is my family safety - home
defense or street survival predicated on carrying a concealed weapon?
This is a question
that has been battled over by anti-gunner and pro-gunner groups
since the invention of the handgun just as the need for home
defense or street survival has been bandied about for centuries.
No you shouldn't
carry a Handgun!
-
Carrying a handgun
can only escalate a situation into a violent encounter that will
cause injury to yourself and family.
-
You are only
providing a weapon for the bad guys to use on your family -if
you don't have a handgun they can't use it on you . Statistics
indicate that there is a 22% greater chance that they handgun
will be used against you in your own home if a handgun is in
your home or on your person.
-
Handguns in the
home cause an increase in death by suicide.
-
Individuals do not
have a need for personal protection handguns, you only have to
look to the police to protect your family
-
We are a civilized
nation with laws to protect your family from criminals and
violence. The authorities will catch and punish the criminal.
-
Look to New York
City, Chicago and L.A. California as an example, they have
some of the best laws in controlling the criminals from getting
handguns and the largest police forces. Just ask anyone who
lives in these cities if they feel the need for a handgun.
If you are still on
our site you must be against carrying handguns and perhaps not real
bright. Or you are like the rest of us and realize the above information
is all Bull S---!
Our team has
collectively over 50 years Law Enforcement experience- over 70
years carrying concealed for off duty and personal use.
-
A
properly trained
armed civilian is in more control of a potential violent
encounter and improves the odds of coming home safe - rather than
the police chaplain showing up at your home to explain your death
to the family. Yes there are some people who carry that would
cause a situation to escalate
simply because they carry a handgun. Unfortunately these few
people can not be excluded - nor should the rest of the
community be infringed upon because of these few.
-
Yes, if you are
not ready to use your handgun to defend your family - or if you
leave it unsecured in your house the pukes may use it on your
family. Not sure how or where the anti-gunners get their
statistics. I would think that if you compare homes with
handguns and those without, you would have a 100% greater chance
of being shot with your handgun than a home that didn't have a
handgun in it. Hell if there ain't no gun then they can't use it
on you. Of course if their isn't a defensive handgun in the home
you can not defend your family either. It is up to the
individual to secure their defensive handguns - learn to use
them properly - and finally USE IT,
if not avoidable.
-
Suicide, well they got
me there, if you don't have a gun in the house you can't off
yourself with it. You will have to use pills - car - knife -
poison or some other creative less painful way to check out.
-
The police are
to protect the masses - By the nature of violence an officer
usually shows up after the fact, except in the rare occasions that
the officer is on the scene already. Officers generally must react
- rather than act.
-
Yes we have
laws and a set of punishments for criminals - Yet everyday their
are violent acts against civilized citizens of this country. Yes
many of the bad guys are caught and punished after the fact.
Should your family's safe be an after the fact? Hell NO!
You are responsible for your safety that of your family.
-
Finally NY,
Chicago, LA, PLEASE! I don't need to say anything more.
To carry or not to carry that is the question
you must answer for yourself, no one else can answer this for you.
As firearms instructors the 1st thing we ask students who plan to
carry concealed of have a home defense firearm "Are you ready to
take a human life to defend yourself or family?" No one in his
right mind wants to take a life, however if it is a matter of
survival and family safety and your answer is No. Then you have no
business with a firearm in your home or possession.
The preceding information does not purport
to be legal advice nor official police procedures. Its only
purpose is to help you become aware of some choices you could be
facing in the aftermath of an attack. Visit your local library and
see what local and state laws have to say regarding an
individual's right to defend one's self. After all is said and
done, when you are face to face with someone who is intent on
doing you bodily harm, the final choice and action is all up to
YOU!
